Mezrano Law Firm wants to congratulate Jordan Lynn, a Senior at Hewitt Trussville High School, for being named a 2019 Scholar Athlete of the Year! Jordan is the first-ever female varsity football player on the Hewitt Trussville team. Not only is she the field goal kicker for the football team, but she is also a varsity soccer player for Hewitt Trussville. Her skills on the soccer field led to a full athletic scholarship to Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.
Jordan is also a true scholar. She has a 4.3 GPA, and plans on going into orthopedics, or potentially pediatric orthopedics, when she graduates.
“She broke the barrier for football,” Steven Mezrano told Talk of Alabama. We’ve got the real deal right here in front of us. And you know, everyone aspires for this, and this is what we wanted with the scholarship: to be able to have this opportunity for somebody who’s got these dreams and passions on the field – in not only one sport, but two sports – and in the classroom.”
We invite you to watch the interview here.
About the Scholar Athlete Scholarships
Mezrano Law Firm and My68 (WAMB Birmingham) partnered to create the Mezrano Law Firm Scholar Athlete Scholarships. Each week, high schools submit their nominations for a Scholar Athlete of the Week to My68, an affiliate of Friday Night Rivals. A student is selected each week from the nominations. Twice a year, a Scholar Athlete of the Year is selected from the pool of weekly winners. Each Scholar Athlete of the Year is awarded $5,000 to help with associated costs for college.
All of us at Mezrano Law Firm are very excited to award this Scholarship to Jordan Lynn. She’s an extraordinary young athlete, scholar, and young woman, and we expect great things from her in the future.
